Dubai Motocross Club

The Dubai Motocross Club is the oldest and largest club in the UAE, it has more than 150 registered members, and hosts the DMX series of 8 races throughout the season which spans October through to the end of April.

The DMX track is situated on the coast and is a mixture of sand and sandstone terrain. It is about 1.5km long and has some natural undulations with made features including a double, whoops section, step up and table tops.

There are two tracks - Junior and Senior and each days racing will see a hundred or more riders competing in Beginner, Cadet and Junior (Junior track) and 65cc, 85cc, 125cc (youth and adult) and Open Classes.

Um Al Quwain Motocross Club

The Um Al Quwain Motocross Club is part of the Emirates Motorplex. Most of the riders from the DMX series compete in the UAQ series with the addition of some riders from the Emirate of Um Al Quwain. There are 5 races in the UAQ series which make up the UAQ Championship.

The UAQ track is desert sand making use of the natural undulations of the sand dunes. The sand is kept well watered with well water - being next to the coast the water from the wells is saline so whilst in binds the sand together well, it is not good for the bikes!

The same classes compete at UAQ as in the DMX championship.

The Al Ain Motocross Club

The Al Ain Motocross Club has just opened and held its first championship this season. The track is on a flat gravel plain so all of the jumps obstacles are man made and include table tops, step ups, doubles and a rythm section. The surface is gravel (naturally) with imported desert sand. The track has a built in watering system to bind the surface together for racing.

There were three races in the Al Ain Championship this season, but because the track was not ready, only the finals were held in Al Ain, the first and second rounds were held at UAQ and DMX respectively.

Riding in Al Ain

Since Al Ain is in the desert we are never more than about 10 minutes away from spectacular riding, we have the gravel plains to the south and east and sand dunes to the north and west.

The desert is open for anyone to ride on so we try to get out at least once or twice a week to practise or just have fun!
